Resident research fellow at the Dhia Jafer Center for Energy and Natural Resources at AUIS and editor-in-chief of Iraq Energy Outlook.

Mohammed Hussein holds a master’s degree in Economics of Public Policy from the Barcelona School of Economics and a bachelor’s degree from AUIS. His research and writing focus on Iraq’s energy sector, private sector development, and the political economy of reform. His work has appeared in Iraq Oil Report, the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, Foreign Affairs, and Foreign Policy as well as various Kurdish platforms.
